"What I find outstanding about
the Burns Night is the familiar atmosphere
of this meeting. I went to several
events of this kind, but I have never
been to one where that friendly and
familiar atmosphere could be breathed
and where old and new friends are
gathered to share ancestral traditions.
To this atmosphere
of brotherhood, we add that joyfulness of
the dances and tunes, the laughs, the singing
and the clapping which was growing louder
and louder with time. One of the most important
moments was The Haggis, a typical Scottish
dish, which was accompanied by the recitation
of Burns Poem, who with
simple but pretty words described a popular
tradition of the Scottish people.. That night I discovered a new group
with whom to share all my affection towards
Scotland and her culture, where the spirit
of brotherhood reigns due to the conjunction
of tradition, passion and friendship. Photo:
